Tesla Scooter – three phase electric scooter
It’s the copy of Tesla Roadster on a scooter. The Tesla Scooter has a 3 phase AC motor. A DC to 3 phase AC converter. Nine (bad capacity and 50kg heavy) lead acid batteries (because of insufficient funds) and about 15-20km per charge (about 30% less effective because of weight and the rear wheel gasoline reduction that we couldn’t remove because it’s a conversion). The range would be more than 70km with lithium ones. Power of 120V and about 100A peak current. 50km/h on a flat road and more on a downhill. Innovative charger that saves the batteries for many years more than declared. It has a reverse gear!
Why do people in North American cities not consider riding small engine motorbikes?
I work as an expat here in Taiwan. I have also travelled to Thailand. I have never been to Vietnam, but in these countries, it seems to me that people are ahead of North American when it comes to consuming less gasoline. 100 cc engine motorbikes (also called scooters here in Taiwan) are very cheap, very efficient, and you do not need to have a motorcycle license to ride these little vehicles. Harley Davidsons require motorcylce license because their engines are more than 200 cc.
The point I am making is this. Here in Taiwan I have a motorbike. I pay only US to fill up the tank with gasoline. Vehicles like this are cheap to buy that you don’t even have to credit these vehicles out of your buget, plus they are easy to manover, and tey don’t take up a lot of space in the city for parking. Now I know that Taiwan has such limited space that scooters are essential as an alternative form of transportation than a car. Thailand has more landspace and they ride scooters there. In Thailand you can have the option of riding a motorbike instead of having a car as well. However in North America, if you want to have your own vehicle, you have no option but to have a car because public transit in North America is inferior to European and Asian countries. (Except if you live in Chicago, New York, or Montreal).
Due to the high cost of gasoline, and overcrowding in our major North American cities, why can’t people in North American cities or even rural area consider the 100cc engine motorbikes as a cheaper option? Are people in North america too proud to own these things? What’s the reason for the regression?
What would be a good Motorbike to start off with?
Hi All

Di Blasi Folding Motorbike or Motor Scooter showing how to Break it Down – First Pit Bike Mini Bike
I bought this Di Blasi Motorbike several years ago on Ebay and have enjoyed taking it places and riding it around the yard. The bike amazingly folds to less than half its height and width. At less than 64 lbs the bike can easily be placed into any trunk. But where it shines is with the aviation community who stow the bike away behind the pilot seats. The Bike has a 50cc 2 stroke engine and can attain a speed of 30 mph. It holds 3/4 gallon of 50:1 fuel and gets 133mpg…not to bad. This model was made in 1982.

What is better for a university student living in Toronto, a Derbi GPR 50 or Aprilia SR 50?
I’m looking to buy a scooter or small motorcycle to use as my main mode of transportation during the summer in Toronto. Both have 50cc engines so they’re fairly cheap to insure.
The Derbi GPR 50 is a small motorbike but it’s hard to find in Canada, and the one I’m looking @ isn’t certified by the current owner but it is admissable in Canada. The Derbi looks really cool, after all, it is a motorcycle but the parts are EXPENSIVE since they gotta b imported. I could only locate a few used ones- for about 00.
The Aprilia SR 50 is also attractive, but it’s a scooter. Aprilia is an Italian company well known for it quality bikes and scooter and it’s easier to buy parts for it and easier to maintain. If I were to get the scooter it’s going to cost about 00 brand new.
What do you think? Derbi or Aprilia? Scooter or Motorcycle?
